1sts v llanelli wanderers LOST AT HOME. 9 13 in a poor game by anyone's standards all points came from the boot of jamie moore. I just think more maturity needed to be shown in our 22 especially when we're leading and under pressure. Youth v gowerton won 13 12. Close game and a lucky final result. Scorers alex young, no. 8 try and fan dan guanary con, pen. Wet conditions but a worthy result. You make your own luck

Firsts should be playing Lampeter today. Game off due to the weather.
2nds is definitely on. Youth has played a couple of games in the last few weeks here are the updates. Youth beat Ammanford 22 3 tries by Ed Curtis, James Snell P Grove and Jonny Hughes. 1 Conversion by D Guanary They also played and won 39 0 against Burry Port tries by J Snell, J Hughes, D James, C Richards 2, L Jones, 3 conversions by Dan Guanary Wales Rant from the Chairman. So far two uninspiring performances. Nice to see Dan playing last night and a good try by Lee, but with no scrum we are fighting an up hill struggle. Thank you to everyone who supported the club at the recent race night. Two more events in December. December 5th North Gower Dinner December 14th Club Dinner Saturday, October 24

1sts won 27 6 v Llanybydder, with tries coming from Rhys Eaton 2, Luke Davies and Matthew Tucker. Jamie who started at 10 kicked 2 con and 1 pen. To quote Smudge "Rhys would be my man of the match, after all he scored 2 tries". However, by all accounts there should have been more tries. Handling was not brilliant. Despite all of that a bonus point win was what the doctor ordered! 2nds also won 15 17 away at vadre. Tries by chris cornelious, will james and tucker. A hard fought win. Finally the youth, their game was brought to an end after 30min, when they had scored 56 points! A truly superb weekend for penclawdd. Ymlaen Penclawdd! Ymlaen. 24th october is race night. Youth won away to Furnace Youth. 15 points to 7. Tries by Luke Jones and Ed Curtis with a conversion by Dan Guanary. A foul night with gale force winds but once the boys listened and played up the jumper rugby rather than sevens the game went according to plan. Another fantastic result. Well done boys WELL DONE

1sts v Laugharne lost 37 13, a sobering day. We gifted Laugharne a number of tries, but the game was peppered with good line breaks by matt and dan. I just think we're looking for miracle passes, and plays that are unrealistic. Damian scored 2 tries but once again 11 pts went astray through missed kicks. Jamie moore 1 pen. There is a need to look at our tackling and ball retention. 2nds won last night 22 10. Some good work by all involved, just a pity gorseinon wanted passive scrums from the start. Never mind though! Tries by Owen, Baz, and 1 more a pen and 2 cons by Mark Williams. Seems gorseinon not happy that a few senior retired players played.

2nds away in Pontardawe Lesiure centre v Trebanos Youth awaiting a referee... Seems to be some decisions being taken about referees are not right, just or fair. Jeremy's address from the prgramme. On behalf of Penclawdd RFC, I would like to welcome the players, committee and supporters of Cardigan RFC to the Recreation Ground for this SWALEC Division 3 West encounter. Our match official is Mr Simon Rees of Ebbw Vale and we wish him well for the game today. Cardigan arrive level on points with Penclawdd following defeats to Morriston (28-24) and Lampeter (18-13) and victory over Llandeilo (20-18). This is their first visit to Penclawdd for around five years and with very little separating many teams in the Division, a close encounter is expected with our visitors. Penclawdd, following a good opening day of the season win over Gorseinon, will be looking to pick up valuable points after two defeats at Morriston and Crymych. Returning to the squad are Rhys Eaton after his rugby venture to Canada, Anthony Griffiths after injury, Luke Davies following some good displays with the 2nd team and Rhodri Evans after a long absence. It is also great to see Philip Tucker returning to his village club while on dual with Swansea RFC. There are still a limited number of tickets available for the Samoa, Argentina and Australia fixtures in November. For those of you who are interested, please contact me as soon as possible Jeremy Parkhouse Honorary Secretary Ymlaen Penclawdd Ymlaen! Penclawdd :15. Jamie Moore 14. Owen Jones 13. 1st xv lost 15 8. Try by will tucker. Pen by jamie moore. All points scored in the first half. In the second half Barry sugget cut their back line to pieces and scored only for the try to be disallowed. Jamie had a pot at goal but missed. The final straw came in the form of a blatant punch thrown by Jon Davies in clear sight of the ref. Who blew for a penalty and subsequently gave jon a warning. I thought punching was illegal, clearly Colin Phillips referee doesn't agree. Yet later in the game when will, who had been gouged during the game, retaliated after being deliberately held down by Crymych 7 was penalised, but no warning given to Crymych 7. crymych backs were deliberately offside and their 7 hardly ever bound correctly at the scrum, infringements not once penalised. A very strange game with many questions about how laws are interpreted. The scrum performed much better in the first half. Organisation was much better. Highlight for me was seeing Billy rip the call clean out of Jon Davies' hands. But play keep ball when time is running out. . . . . Seconds won at home to Skewen 31 5. 2 tries by Dewi, 1 for Baz, 1 for Will James and 1 pen try, 3 conversions by Baz! Well done the boys. Clearly the old ones just keep getting better! Wednesday night the youth played Loughor and won 27 17. A superb display. Loughor play in the division above Penclawdd, so this achievement can not be underestimated. The 1st half was outstanding, and 25 youth boys were unavailable for this game. Tries by Callum Richards, Will Tucker, Ed Curtis, Joel Kabia and 2 con and 1 pen by Dan Guarany. Well done to the youth. .

1st XV are away to Morriston and lost 22 14 in the dying moments, until that point we were within a losing bonus point. All subs used. Concerns over Ben's calf and Baz's hamstring. Points scored by Jamie, 2 pens and a drop goal. He's a real danger infront me the posts. Try scored by Damian Williams. Defence held well for the majority of the game, even when Matthew Watts was sin binned for a high tackle, but scrum was a weak link. Crymych next week. Where is crymych?. 2nd XV are at home to Vadre and won 29 24. Waitin for scorers, up 29 0 at half time.

Anthony Bennett, Gareth Thomas and Rob Richards have been appointed to coach senior rugby next season. They offer a wealth of experience and knowledge of Penclawdd RFC and are keen to get into the swing of things. After a disappointing season Penclawdd look forward to a more successful campaign next term. With the 'old boys' of Smashy, Billy and Pocket Rocket planning for the next crusade, along with Shunto and Catto there is sense optimism at the club. Let's all get behind them and build on the successes of the Youth from last year. Let's look towards a Gower Cup and a successful second team. Let's get behind the first team that have those long trips ahead of them! Let's think YMLAEN!
